ACDSee shows different file type in different colors, so you can more easily distinguish the JPGs from the PSD files, and has nice information reporting on things like file sizes, resolution, EXIF info, etc. I find this a lot quicker and more natrual than peering at my image directories through the File Open dialog box in Photoshop. I commonly download all the images from the camera, then drag them to other directories to organize.įor working with Photoshop, I generally locate and select the images I want to work with with ACDSee, then drag their thumbnails and drop them on the open Photoshop. You can have a directory tree open on one side of the screen and manage images by dragging and dropping. It has nice contact sheet features and an excellent lossless JPEG transform (to let you rotate JPEG images without the recompression that would reduce quality.)ĪCDSee functions as a full-feature file manager, as well. You can use an Intellimouse wheel to move between full-screen images. I usuallly work with Photoshop open full screen on one monitor and ACDSee open full screen on the other (I use dual-21" monitors).ĪCDSee has a great image browser and nice feature to very quickly scan through huge directories full of images, displaying each in sequence, zooming in, panning, etc.
